This year, Newday will run from Monday, July 29th, to Saturday, August 3rd. The camp itself operates from Monday to Friday, with departure for home on Saturday.

There will be 3-4 youths per tent.

We handle the final tent allocations to ensure all youths are included and no one is left out. While we consider tent suggestions, we cannot guarantee that you will be placed with everyone you list.

If your children are the same gender and close in age, they may share a tent. However, significant age gaps between siblings will prevent them from sharing a tent, as allocations consider age and year groups.

No. According to the behaviour agreement form, if a boy is found in a girl’s tent or vice versa, they will be sent home.

No. To attend Newday as a delegate, you must be 18 years old by the 31st of August. If you have repeated a year at school, you will not be eligible to attend.

We cannot provide an exact amount, but consider that it is a 5-day trip with varying costs. For example:

  • Drinks: £1
  • Sweets: £1.50
  • Ice creams: £2-3
  • Milkshakes: £4
  • Food court items: £6-10

Books are available for purchase, and Newday takes an offering on the final day. These factors should guide your decision on how much money to give your child.

A debit card is preferred as most vendors on site accept contactless payments. Additionally, if the card is lost, you can block it remotely. We recommend providing a small amount of cash as some vendors may only accept cash. Note that youth leaders cannot look after your child’s money, and there are no cash points on site for withdrawals. We are not liable for any lost cash.

Your child is responsible for all their belongings. Please label items clearly and encourage them to keep things safe. A pouch or side bag is useful for securing valuable items. Note that the Church is not responsible for any lost items, so please be mindful of what your child brings.
